Reflexology Professor

Hi,

June is shaping up to be a fabulous month. I have my Face Reflexology Workshop in New York City in a week and I’m also working on a few new projects that I’ll tell you all about in a short while.

Today I want to give you a quick exercise guide that you can do yourself or share with your clients. It’s fast, it’s easy and it will get results.

In fact, one of my client’s has credited just one of these exercises as “life-changing. Never underestimate the little things that you can do for yourself.

5 Reflexology Exercises That You Can Do With Your Feet In… 5 Minutes

As reflexologists we know that going to a professional reflexologist is the best way to experience reflexology.

But, there are other ways to enjoy some of the benefits of foot health that are received through reflexology that our clients can do without having to see us every day.

This series of 5 “Reflexology exercises” are a great way for you or your clients to get a “reflexology fix” in between sessions. For a small sample of how to make your reflexology last, try (or suggest) these five quick exercises today!

     1.    If you want a quick “spot check” that also involves a little exercise, take a golf ball, or a specially textured roller, and roll your feet back and forth on top of the ball. The texture of the ball will make the blood flow in your feet, and may help circulation and lymph flow.

This is a common exercise among reflexology fans who simply want to get some additional support to their great reflexology session… at home.

     2.    Using both your hands, hold your foot and slowly (but gently) twist the foot by moving your hands in opposite directions.  Then, walk your thumbs up and down the inside arches of both feet.

The immediate benefit of this is that it will feel amazing. As an added benefit, this easy to do exercise also is known to help relieve back pain and also help those with spinal problems.

    3.    Another popular exercise is called “the towel curl.” Put a small washcloth or towel on the floor, and, using only your toes, curl it towards you.

This simple exercise helps both relax you and build muscles in your feet. It’s especially good for limbering those stiff and curled toes.

     4.    A set of foot exercise poses that are common in reflexology are also very common in ballet and other forms of dance classes. First, point your feet and hold this pose for 5 seconds. Then curl your toes, and hold it for 5 seconds. After this pose, raise your toes as high as you can and hold for 5 seconds.

Do 20 repetitions of this exercise, and you’ll notice your general health increase.

     5.    The last (and perhaps most relaxing) exercise is called “toe rotations.” Take the base of your big toe in your hand, and slowly rotate it clockwise, then counter clockwise. Next, grasp the second joint of your toe, and rotate it in both directions. Repeat this exercise with all 10 toes.

This exercise, aside from being a quick and easy, also is supportive to help improve cranial health, and aid in mood balance.

What can you do with these 5 exercises?

     1. Enjoy them yourself.

     2. Give them to your client as a maintenance protocol between sessions.

     3. Mail them along with a thank you after your first session with a client and show how committed you are to their health and wellbeing.

     ENJOY!

To your reflexology success –
